Meet Our Members
Tim and Chris
We have been married for 33 years and dreaming of an opportunity to participate in a cohousing community for even longer. Tim is a nonprofit technology professional. He has built a career serving a wide variety of human and community service organizations, using his expertise to help agencies advance their missions for good. He currently works for Multiplier, an umbrella organization that supports start-up nonprofits. After 25 years as a stay-at-home mom, Chris is working as a spiritual director, independently and as part of the Ignatian Spirituality Program at Regis University. We spend our leisure time hanging out with our three adult kids and their partners, attending live music events, walking and hiking, and playing fetch-the-spring with our two cats. We are excited to build relationships, reduce our environmental impact, and share gifts and experiences with other members of the Blue Columbine Cohousing community!

Diane
I lived on Long Island NY for my whole life but always preferred mountains to beaches! I have enjoyed a career as a manual physical therapist devoted to helping people reach their full potential.
I only recently learned about cohousing, and the concept of living in community with deep social connections really resonated with me. And I am happy that moving to Blue Columbine will allow me to be closer to my two grown children.
I am passionate about healthy living — body, mind, and spirit. I am committed to the care of creation and living gently on the planet. I love learning, outdoor activities, and walking pilgrimages.

Susan
Hi - I'm Susan (she/her) form Portland, Oregon. I'm drawn to cohousing as a way to sustainably age-in-place and to be in community with others who value shared governance, individual and collective well-being. I grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and then lived in Boston & New York for 15 years before moving on to Portland. I currently work as a startup advisor and technology consultant for purpose-driven founders and nonprofit organizations. For fun, I train and compete in dog sports with my four pups, Lila, Momo, Noki and Kendra, including Flyball, a team relay-style dog sport!
I'm excited to join Blue Columbine with my 82 year old mother, who lives with me part-time during the year. We also have close family in Golden and look forward to spending more time together.

Stephanie
I currently live in Brooklyn NY and have been researching cohousing living and paying attention to those communities for well over 10 years. I wasn't sure where or when but I knew I wanted to become a member of a Cohousing Community for a very long while. My daughter and son in law live in Applewood CO and I have been curious about what has been happening with Blue Columbine for over a year now. How great to be a part of a Cohousing community near them! I am a Clinical Social Worker and have worked as a Psychotherapist in my own private practice for over 30 years. I love to cook with others, be out in nature often, bird watch, swim and play piano. I enjoy sharing resources, keeping my carbon footprint light and am excited to live a more sustainable life in a thriving community.

Mara and Kevin
We currently live in Salt Lake City, UT where Mara is a family medicine physician and Kevin is a pulmonologist. We did some of our medical training in Denver (where we met Meg and Josh) and moved to Salt Lake City in 2000. We have been in Salt Lake for the past 23 years where we have raised two children. Our son is in his first year of college and our daughter is busy in the IB program at high school. We have a German shorthair pointer who makes sure we run with him daily. In the summer we take long hikes in the mountains, run, and ride gravel bikes. In the winter, we enjoy alpine and nordic skiing.
We are planning to move to the Blue Columbine co-housing community when we retire in 8-10 years. We like the idea of building a co-housing community from the ground up, so we are investing now in the Blue Columbine co-housing project. Ultimately when we retire, we plan to travel extensively. When not on the road we look forward to being in the Blue Columbine community.

Debbie
Ten years ago, I envisioned forming a community with family and friends - long before I realized that intentional communities were already thriving worldwide! I’m a “half” empty nester with two young adult sons. I love traveling, hiking, cooking, gardening, yoga, travel journaling, outdoor concerts, dogs, public radio programming and being out in nature where I can listen to the birds singing and wind rustling through the trees. Though I was raised in Florida, my heart has always been out west, and I dream of retiring to Colorado, where I can enjoy a breath of fresh air in more ways than one. I love the idea of a close-knit group that looks out for one another - where we can gather for potluck dinners or Friday night movies in the common area, yet still retreat to the privacy of our own homes at the end of the day. Each person will bring their own unique talents and gifts to enrich our community, making it a place of connection, support, and shared purpose.

Meg
My husband Josh and I started the Blue Columbine CoHousing community, hoping to build a place where we could live with friends. I am a retired physician with three grown children.
I love to be outside hiking, skiing or walking. I enjoy singing, cooking, baking, and entertaining friends. I love mountains, trees, wildflowers and wildlife.
CoHousing appeals to me in sharing resources while making socializing with friends an easy and natural part of every day.
